Anti-depressants

Prozac/fluoxetine/anti-depressants - Michele, New York, USA

In 1993, I participated in a double-blind study at the New York State Psychiatric Institute to see if Prozac (generic: Fluoxetine) helps with controlling "repetitive non-suicidal skin mutilation". I was one of the few people in the study with a "medical" or physical problem behind my behaviour. It worked wonders! It was working with only 10-20 mg a day. I was free! Unfortunately, now I am having the first bad flare up in over 7 years, which was somewhat expected, since some people develop tolerances to Prozac over time. I don't feel any stigma that Prozac is an anti-depressant, because even though I wasn't "crazy", the truth was that eczema WAS making me insane, angry, depressed, hopeless, worthless, a hermit, etc. I highly recommend trying Prozac or other related medication.
