Could ALL eczema be fungal infection? - Ralph,

I first had my suspicions because areas I scratched became infected, as though eczema was transmissible. Was that because I was scratching areas of skin already susceptible, or was I spreading an infectious agent to new skin?
The evidence I was looking for was under my glasses. The pads of my glasses always had eczema under them. But was this because these were hot, sweaty susceptible areas of skin, or because infected pads (soft plastic variety) had infected the skin? The answer was given by a
colleague, who had similar glasses, but eczema under only one pad - the other was completely free of eczema. This demonstrated to me that eczema was transmissible, and there was an infectious agent I might be able to defeat. And I did defeat it, by using standard anti-fungals. (Both myself and my colleague were diagnosed with eczema, by the way, not a fungal infection.)
It is my firm belief that the vast majority of eczema sufferers suffer from a fungal infection, and that a standard double-blind trial, utilising strong anti-fungals in the trial, would prove this. (December 2009) Contact Ralph
